Trip to Space? Why Not!

As if we didn’t have enough to do already, we can now add space travel to our bucket lists!

Okay, so it's not 100% available to us non-astronaut common-folk quite yet, but Virgin Galactic has some pretty promising goals to get everyone (that can afford it) to space in this lifetime. For a minimum deposit of $20,000 you can book a seat today, but be prepared to pay a total of $200,000 on this ticket.

The main goal of Virgin Galactic is to give anyone the chance to experience space travel without having to go through the intense training typically required before hopping on a jet and shooting up to space. There are still a few requirements, including medical assessments and age restrictions, but you definitely won't be required to make a complete career change to get on the next flight.

It sure does sound like the 'journey of a lifetime' if you have a small fortune to spare and tough stomach.

If you are interested in seeing the latest spaceship design, check out the SpaceshipTwo, that will be equip to carry 6 passengers and 2 pilots. You could be on this ship with 5 of your best travel friends!

Visit the Space Book to reserve your spot today or start small and visit your closest TD Canada Trust branch to open your space savings account like me.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

  1. Great post, Megan! I'm excited by what Virgin Galactic has initiated for common-folk yearning to get into space! I'm also really fascinated by the WhiteKnightTwo plane that tows SpaceshipTwo to launch altitude. What a neat-looking aircraft!
