Skateboarding Around the World

Throughout the skateboarding industry, travel has been expanding rapidly. This expansion of travel provides individuals with endless possibilities. Traditionally skateboarding was a sport that was not very extensive in regards to its economic aspects. But through its growing popularity and acceptance into mainstream society the sport has been able to cross borders around the world. Today, professionals travel around the globe in order to get footage as well as to skate in demos that help expand their sponsors product throughout the world. The desire to skate spots that have never been documented or even skated on before pushes skateboarders to travel to unlikely cities in order to gain the competitive and artistic advantage. This has pushed skateboarding to a level of innovation that hasn't been seen since the 1970's. The evolution of skateboarding is beneficial because it helps to spread the joy of the sport throughout many countries around the world.

As a skateboarder myself, I hope to one day cross the borders of countries and to experience new street locations where I can practice and build from the skills I have learnt in Canada. I have a so to speak bucket list of skate spots that I want to ride before I die. The list is as follows:

1. Anywhere in Barcelona Spain

2.  Black pearl skate park- Cayman Islands

3. Hollywood high- California

4. Lincoln square- Melbourne

5. Melbourne museum - Melbourne

All of these spots have influenced the progression of skateboarding as we know it today. Skating these spots would give a surreal sense of history and accomplishment. Hopefully one day I will get to visit these spots.

Thanks for reading!!!!
